IS THE TREKKING TEPUY RORAIMA FOR ME?
7-day/6-night Trekking
From Puerto Ordaz, we start our journey with a shared ground transportation for 11 hours (road in poor condition) to San Francisco de Yuruaní (in the Gran Sabana), where we will spend the night in single-room lodges.
-If you enter through Santa Elena de Uairen (it’s better than Caracas-Puerto Ordaz) because you save the 11-12 hours of traveling by car from Puerto Ordaz until San Francisco de Yuruaní (550km).
-Santa Elena de Uairen (SEU) to San Francisco de Yuruaní approximately 1 hour by car (65km).

Day 1
In the early hours, we will meet at the indigenous community: San Francisco de Yuruaní (in La Gran Sabana) and board rustic vehicles to travel 24km on gravel roads to reach the indigenous community: Paraitepuy. After registering at the Inparques checkpoint, we will start the hike on the first stretch of approximately 13km, until we reach the Rio Kukenan camp at 1,050 meters above sea level. We will spend the night here after walking for approximately 3-5 hours. Reaching the summit of the mountain involves walking several days along a route of approximately 28km.
Day 2
We start hiking (8am) for about 4 hours (10km) to the Base Camp at 1,800 meters above sea level, where we will spend the night on the edge of the tepuy.
Day 3
We start hiking at 8:00 am for about 4 hours (4km), steep ascent to reach the top of the tepuy. Then we will go to a hotel (rock formation shaped like a cave) to set up camp and shelter ourselves from possible rain, wind, or sun. If spirits are high and weather permits, we will visit the highest geographical point of the Tepuy, «El Maverick,» at an altitude of approximately 2,800 meters above sea level or other points of interest. Then we will return to the hotel to take refuge and spend the night.
Day 4
Very early (5am) with the intention of watching the sunrise visiting:
La Ventana (amazing landscape). Visit the natural Jacuzzis with water at low temperatures. And also depending on spirits and weather, we will visit other tourist points of interest.
Day 5
Other walks on the top of the tepuy (exact points reserved).
Day 6
Descend, leaving behind the majestic tepuy, Base Camp, and Rio Kukenan camp, we will arrive at Rio Tek camp and spend the last night there.
Day 7
From Rio Tek, we will walk the last 13km until we reach the indigenous community of Paraitepuy and thus board the rustic vehicles and have lunch in San Francisco de Yuruani (Kumarakapay). To head to Santa Elena de Uairen or Puerto Ordaz the next day.

If you want, we can organise a personal porter (helper to carry your personal backpack). These must be paid separately. 10kg of weight for $30/day.
NOTE: We recommend that your personal backpack during the hike be a maximum of 8-12kg. If you wish, you can leave some additional luggage at your accommodation site in San Francisco de Yuruaní before starting the trek to lighten the weight of your backpack and have them back when finishing the trek.
